i am trying to breed my st bernards and the female just wont take the male. I heard that if you take an apple and rub it down her vack and on her stomach she will know what it feels like to be mated with, she will like it and will want to mate. Is this true if it is i am going to try it. Any hekp would be appriciated

yes i heard this is true but i was told to use a pineapple not a apple because the pricks of the pineapple are what will give her the mating sensation.

We had this problem with our Cocker female once.Try to keep the dogs separate until the day she is actually ready to mate. Some females who stay all the time with the male get grumpy with the male trying to get on her before she is ready.
You can tell when she is ready when her discharge becomes pinkish colored and she will flag her tail to the side when you scratch her rump over her tail.

it will help for u to hold the female with a leash, and position her head so she can't move. then let the male climb on top but don't drop the leash until he is in her
