If the police pull a driver over solely for expired registration and the registration was not in fact expired, and if the diver has a suspended licence, do they still have the right to cite and impound the car? Will the citation stand up in court despite the wrong probable cause? And what is the "verbal notice" the police give informing the driver that his/her license is suspended?

Thank you.
