maybe your alternator is bad?

yeah, I'd get the fuel line checked, might be a problem getting enough gas from the tank to the engine or something.  I had relatively the same problem with an 89 corolla.  as for the battery, that could be so many things that I'mjust not gunna guess at it.

I've had the exact same problem with my 94 Cavalier 2.2L.

I've changed the alternator, and the battery because I got my old one recharged so much at Autozone that it stopped being able to hold a charge. I also had the starter changed. Still I've haven't been able to make trips longer than a few miles--especially at night--without my battery draining until my car cuts off.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi i once had a 1992 calibra 2.0 8v which kept cutting out when i was driving so i checked over the engine and found a hole in one of the air pipe's. If thats any good to you and the battery could be 2 things, have you checked the alternater or the battery for dead cells. Hope this helps.

Your alternator is no good or the belt is slipping.
