What is a word data type? And why we need this ,if we can manage with the other data types.

The meaning of data type= types of data.
There are various types of data like name,age,sex etc. So a datatype categorise a data in a specific group and allow us specific types of operation perform on it. We store data in a variable. We use datatype when we declare a variable which define what type of data a variable can hold and what type of operation perform on it?
Suppose we have a variable that hold numeric value, then we perform arithmetic operation like(Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication etc.) on that value.
If a variable hold string value then we can only perform string operation. We can't perform arithmetic operation. So we need a datatype to categorise the various types of data
