I've had a lingering stye on my upper eyelid for about a year now- actually its progressivley become a small cluster of infected eyelash follicles that come and go.  Most ok the time- I cant see or feel it and some days it irritates my eye-could you fill me in on all the possible links this could be(other than a stye or blephartis)or given the duration I've had this what are some of the outcomes?
Much appreciated

hi i have something similar to what you are describing, for about six months i have had a lump on the underside of my top eyelid.
Some days it is really noticeable and other days it isnt so bad.
Lately though i have been noticing that my eyelid appears swollen and i have another one coming up right in the crease of my eyelid, this causes my eye to run and is really tender when i touch or rub my eye.
Its a nightmare when im waking up cos my inatant reaction is to rub my eyes.
My gp said it is a cyst and to leave it but i did that and now have two so im going back to the docs on thursday and i want them removed before i turn into the elephant woman.
My advice to you is dont leave it if its bothering you  get it sorted its your gps job (not to mention your eyesite, my eye goes blurry allthe time) so make sure they take you seriously and dont fob you off.
good luck and hope it clears up soon.
julie
ps the likelihood is that you will suffer from these again from time to time.
