First of all, get it to a Veternarian, but I had a German Shepherd, who developed hair lose on her belly, she was chewing frantically and due to this it turned all purple in color, which freaked me out. When I took her to six different Vets, the last one who called in an Expert, I was informed that she had allergies. She had to then begin shots which turned out to be very expensive over the rest of her life span. They can develop a lot of diseases that humans get and carry. But best advice is get medical attention.
