Hi,
I babysit 4 kids, the ages of 7, 6, 3, and 1. I know it can be difficult for these age groups. One thing I've found is, bring a lot of movies. It's something that keeps them ALL occupied.

Another thing is, bring coloring books, puzzles, etc. for the older ones, and while they're coloring, you can easily play/watch the little ones.

Have fun!

I babysit kids ages 2, 4, and 5.  The five-year-old girl enjoys baking (especially with her new easy bake oven) and painting.  The four-year-old boy loves to swim and the two-year-old likes to play with his toys, watch movies and read books.

I'm a Playgroup Leader and Co-ordinator for an Out-of-School Club. With playgroup age, we play animal pretend. I choose different kinds of animals and children imitate the chosen animal. It goes down well and entertains them.

I'm a grandfather, twin boys (4 yrs) if you have a workshop, garage, basement or??? you'll need small hammers, nails (roofing large heads-easier to hit) and a few boards (soft wood pine, cedar-nail penetrates easier)cut boards in different shapes, sizes etc. and let them nail together. Water color paints and let them paint their projects...you can even precut pieces to make "simple" bird feeders, houses etc.

Get some poster board, glue and misc. items, IE: beads, straws, cotton balls, sprinkles etc.. Have the children work together to make a texture collage.  You could even have them collect items from the park, sand, leaves, rocks.  My 3yr. old loves doing this, it's fun and it takes awhile, so they'll be occupied.

I work in a nursery with two-year-olds, and they all love to bring me their favorite books, and I'll read them for the kids. They all enjoy to look at the pictures and tell you their opinions on the book. Reading to kids is a great way to keep the children occupied, and a fantastic way for them to learn.

I am a early childcare teacher, and i would do anything you can think of,anything simple they are children they will love it! such as...painting, collage with natural materials find scrap matrials, wool cotton, string and add to collage materials, construction building in the sand, books, drawing with textas, pencils, candle wax, make little hand/finger puppets, create a book about the child about their family or interests...and simply just add things to activities to make them interesting like to play dough add little plates, spoons, or blocks to see what they can create.

I'm a key worker in a nursery for 2-3's and find it is so easy to let them have choices in life to choose what they really want to play. If you always make their decision for them they wont make choices in life at an early age for them to feel independent.

I believe the best game for young children are to act with them, buy some costumes on sale after Halloween (fireman-police-fairy-even scary ). And just play together with them.
Don't forget to take pictures and then you can have the child draw what they did.

This is great

Try a scavenger hunt. Give each child a card with a picture of an item. Ask them to find the item shown on the card. After they find each item, ask them to name the item and to match the item (example bucket/shovel, shoe/sock.)

I am a student in a nursery and i work with children aged 2 to 3 years old. They love to glue things. I done an activity where i cut out flower shapes and stuck on photos of them, i then painted their hands green and used hand prints for the leaves of the flower. They absolutely loved it and wanted to do it again.
They also love junk modeling and painting. They like to be able to run around outside and this is great as it burns off some of they energy!!

I babysit 3 little girls ages 7,4,2 and they enjoy playing outside with each other on the jungle gym and swing set. They also like playing house in their bedroom. They really enjoy dressing up in my clothes and putting on my shoes and jewelry and makeup. They really enjoy coloring but beware what could happen to the walls.
