I have an old United States dollar bill. It says,"The United States Will pay the bearer one dollar. Treasury in New York August 1st 1862." It has a picture of a balding man who I do not recognize on the left side of the front. On the back it says,"this note is a legal tender for all debts public and private except duties on imports and interest on the public debt; and is receivable in payment of all loans made to the Unites States". It is in very good condition. How much is it worth?

Hi..sound like you have a legal tender note.The man on the left side is Salmon P. Chase who was Secretary of the Treasury under Lincoln.Your note does have collector value but the actual value will depend on grade.Send me a scan front and back I can come up with an estimate of value.Email me at marlofan@aol.com. I have a $5 dollar, US Bill. Series 1929, Gold lettering, gold stamp. Left hand side says, The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston Will Pay To The Bearer on Demand FIVE DOLLARS. How much is this bill worth? I also have a few other very old bills, email at: outtabeantown@aol.com

I also have one of those tender one dollar notes. Mine does not have any red on it. It says act of July 11,1862. Then on down near the bottom it is dated august 3,1862. How can I find out how much it is worth, if anything.

i have a silver certificate that is a 5 dollar bill. the year on it is 1953 and lincoln is on it. I would like to know how much it is worth it has 2 pin hole marks on it & it has a mark on it from when this lady check it with a fake marker pen. The serial number is in blue and so is the stamp above humphries name. can you let me know thats DON

how can i tell if the ten dollar bill that i have is a miss print. at the bottom of the faced side with hamilton on it the bottom of the ten is not perfectly striaght.it looks as the the printed line that goes all the way around the webbing and the ten and face is not even with the very bottom of the papper. and also with lifting it into the light you can see there is no strip that says usa on it.
