the tips of my chihuahuas ears turned purple after her bath. did i rub them too hard and break blood vessels? will it heal or is there something else that could be wrong?

You might have been a bit rough, all you really need to do is pat them gently.  If they're still discolored after a couple of days, or if the dog shows any distress, I would consult with your veterinarian.
