Yes, because it gave women a sense of freedom and liberty through being employed in mens' usual occupations (e.g. factory work). Also, the set-up of organisations such as the Land Army made women realise they could, effectively, for want of a better phrase 'stand on their own feet'. My Grandmother was 17 at the time and worked in a factory, and told me it was the happiest time of her life because she felt so much freer.

yes i think it did it gave them more power to get womens rights, equal pay etc
