I have a Stuyvesant upright piano, serial number 17475, style 209P, It has 88 keys and still sounds and works great. I am trying to find more information about it and i am working at restoring it to its original condition, What i need is to find out about how old it is and what it originally looked like.
Unfortunately for me some one painted it before i received.
I have not been able to find out much information about the company that manufactured it or what it originally looked like

Any information would be helpfull

thank you for your time

Hello tiggermoon,

You may have already found this information, but if not, here are a few details.  According to the Pierce Piano Atlas, 10th edition, your piano was made in 1908.  You may find the original finish on the inside of the piano, just open the top and look at either side wall.  The Wheelock Piano Company originally manufactured the Stuyvesants as a less expensive line, then around 1903, both became part of the Aeolian Piano Company, which controlled many smaller companies.
