depending on how long you have had it, and how long you have noticed her largeness. guinea pigs are only pregnant for (I THINK) about 52 days.. check me on that, so if you subtract and all .. then you'll find out how many days are left.

There is many ways you can find out if a guinea pig is pregnant you'll notice that it will be eating and drinking more you'll also notice a change like when you pet its tummy
it wont want you to.

guinea pigs are pregnant for 67-73 days and you will know she will have babies in 3-4 weeks when you can feel her babies moving.  also her pelvic bones will widen from being clamped shut to about an inch and a half.  when they are this wide you will know she will give birth in the next 48 hours.

My guinea pig never liked me to pet her tummy and she's looking kind of pear shaped, I got her a while ago like 2 months and I don't have a boy guinea pig although she is in the cage with another pig that the pet store told me was a girl too, and I would just like to know if she could be pregnant or not.

Guinea pigs are pregnant for 63 days exactly. If they are pregnant do they appear to have two sort of fat pouches either side? Also can they get pregnant from their own brothers?

from the having my pig's having her babies which she held them for 59 day's but a guinea pig usually holds them from anywhere between 59 to 72 day's but more likely to have them at 63 day's a good book for info. on your pig is called The Guide to Owning a Guinea Pig by Graham j. Edsel it helped me a lot i now have 7 guinea pigs and about to have 3 to 4 more pigs are due after this one .....good luck with your pig

If the litter is very small - say 1 or 2 babies they will probably be very large and the mother will have problems giving birth to them. If there are a lot of babies, say 6, then they will probably be very small and not very strong, the babies may not thrive.

One way to tell if your guinea pig is pregnant is to slowly roll her onto her back and feel around her stomach and if you feel knot(s) then she is most likely pregnant. Or take her to a vet if you feel unsure about that. Also, if when holding her, u feel movement or see kicking, she is pregnant. I know this cause I've been through the same thing and those are the ways i found out she was pregnant. Gestation Period= 57-70 days
If she walks lop sided then she has an odd number of babies.

They are pregnant for about 62-70 days like Lauz said, you will see the babies move in about 3-4 weeks. And she'll make this unforgetable sound, you'll know she's having them.

Well,it takes 60 - 80 days in the gestation period. So it is about 10 weeks total. if you got her at a pet shop she probably mated with one of the males. or do you have a male also.

i've gota guinea pig that is pregnant too! we have a book and it says they are pregnant for about 9-10 weeks. You will also notice that it will want to rest for a bit and if you pet it's tummy it will be very uncomfortable for the guinea pig and she will not let you pet it. They normally have babies during the night. you won't notice anything during the day but at night you will. When your guniea pig does have babies they will take care of it for the night. You MUST seperate the mother and the babies when they are about 4-5 weeks old other wise they will just be ignored. hope this has helped you Jess!

We thought our guinea was just becoming a fatty. Then we felt the two knots in her abdomen. She appears to be laying around and is a bit less active, but her temper is actually showing improvement.

I read something about feeding her milk soaked bread, but I dont know about that just yet. Can you reccomend any good websites that discuss more about pregnancy and birthing care?

Have you put the female guinea pig with a male?If so here are the stages of guinea pig pregnancy...
                                            Week 1 No signs
Week 2 Sow may start drinking more

Week 3 Sow will start gaining weight, there will be a tightening of the abdomen muscles.

Week 4 An experienced breeder will be able to feel small fetuses

Week 5 Sow usually looks noticeably pregnant, taking on a rather rounded appearance. You will be able to feel the outlines of the fetuses.

Week 7 You will be able to feel 'quickening' this is when the babies kick

Week 9 It may become difficult for the sow to move around but she should still be active and eat and drink as normal.
The pelvic bones will separate sometime during this week

Week 10 The babies will be born

hope this helps!

I just bought a guinea pig and I think she is pregnant. What are several things that will let me know for sure??If I bought her pregnant, I never really saw her at her normal size, so I don't know what to compare her to. Also, I feel her stomach, and I can feel hard areas, so I don't think it's fat.
Also, what is the cage size I would need once she has her babies?? I would like to keep them all together.

The first week you won't notice anything but she may start to eat and drink a bit more, at 3-4 weeks you will notice small ball shapes growing on the side of her stomach, these will grow bigger and bigger until she is about seven weeks pregnant. The babies will then stay in the mothers stomach until she is ten weeks pregnant and at ten weeks that's when they are born.

The way you can tell if your guinea pig is pregnant.1 you will notice that she will eat and drink more.2 her belly will double in size.3 if you feel under her belly you will be able to feel little lumps that will get bigger over time.4 they are usually pregnant for 63 to 70 days this will vary in how many litters she has had. you will notice when she is about to give birth as her pelvis will widen about an inch around the day before she will give birth.5 then you will maybe find little ones running around.

But I don't know anything about the pregnancy stuff with guinea pigs. i got her from the pet store at the end of December and her stomach has gotten very large, she has a pear shape to her now, her sides bulge out and I have looked at pictures of pregnant guinea pigs..and it looks like she is. But it's already Feb. 11th, so i don't know if she is! Help! She doesn't like me touching her stomach or sides anymore either. How do you know for sure if they are or not? I have a book it is called the "Guinea Pig Handbook" By Sharon L. Vanderlip, D.V.M.

It says
If your cavy is pregnant, you will notice an increase in size in her abdomen, especially during the last month of her pregnancy. When you pick her up she will feel heavier. Upon gentle palpation, you can feel the fetuses as early as two weeks after breeding, and as time approaches for her to deliver you can detect the relaxation of her symphysis pubis.
