Resting Time:I have heard a lot about hard-gainers having to rest a lot of days before doing the same exercise so the muscles can rebuild.  If I buy protein supplements with.... say 50g protein, can that shorten the time it takes I need to rest, so i can do the same exercise say 2 days later?

To Mike,
The answer is an absolute No, protein and amino acids are made intended to help your muscles to rebuild them faster, however your muscles need watter and time to re-gain elasticity, therefore inner muscles fibers could gain mass quickly, otherwise you'd immediately fall in over-training.

No, i also am a believer in rest being the virtue of this system I'm also a hard gainer fighting to put on muscle mass i work just about 50.00 hours a week sometimes overnight and somtimes during the day so even though i try to keep weight training and protein intake up i cant seem to get over the hump without being able to recover......
