I would like to know what is the best! To get a brown female...

I would like to know what is the best! To get a brown female for my black and Tan one breed with so the puppies come out in both colour'sor can she also be black and Tan like him so maybe some of the puppies can also come out tan?

A black and tan can mate with any colour, just like us you never know what colour they come out, for example, 2 cream (male and female) can produce a double dapple silver, their colour genes go way back in their background, so example my black and tan male will be mating with a cream, he has in his bloodline, piebald, red and black and tan, she has cream, blue, so you really don,t know what colour or pattern you can get.Don,t ever breed 2 blues together, as they will produce bad coats, not all some. Also dapple to dapple can produce blindness and deafness. A blue is really a diluted black and tan.

It's hard to prenict what color the puppies will be it depends on what color the male can throw more than likely some will be tan and oters black and tan. Mine also threw solid black. Good Luck

Oh and by the way the dog is not brown in dachshunds that color is called red. SHe could be a clear red which is recessive, a dilute red (american cream, or a regular red which may appear to be brownish.
