I have an Hp 7100 3.01 CD Writer, but it won't write.  When I go into Device Manager it says it is working properly.  When I try to burn photos onto a CD-R it will act like its doing it then when I check the CD there isn't anything on it.  HELP

You must be using Windows XP right now. As I know Windows XP dropped the ball on this drive and HP is no longer supporting it either, that means the drive can only work as a CD-ROM, not a CD-Writer because the writing laser gun will not be turned on. Unless someone create a driver for it. Time to buy a new CD-writer.
