Emission I/M incomplete intermittently.  I have a 96 Eagle Talon 2.0L DOHC PFI.  The emission test will fail for 5 monitor test (catalyst, Evap Sys, Oxygen Sens, Oxygen heater, EGR Sys).  After doing the drive test for about 45 minutes, all, but 2 I/M's will be ok.  Then you turn off the ignition key and all 5 I/M will become incomplete again.  So if you try and pass emissions you will fail.  There appears to be a problem with the PCM storing last data of I/M.  There are NO stored trouble codes, but the key on-off mode will flash a 12 and a 55.  It appears that 12 could be related to battery disconnected, so I believe there is a bad connection to the PCM for this 12 volt sensor.  Have you heard of this problem and do you have any suggestions on the fix?

I belive this is one of the "known problem" vehicles identified by my state's(IL)IM240 program. Some readiness monitors that are not set are ignored... I don't have the documentation in front of me right now, and I realize your post is 4 months old. If you still need the specifics: ycaguirre@comcast.net

Look, First, You need to buy a fro sale sign. Park the car and then sell it. I would put about $3000 on the sign. If the guy asks what wrong then tell him.... If he doesnt then Don say a thing... After the car is sold, buy another car and have fun!!!!!!!! I have seen some egales come into my shop and I sent them back out because Egales were discontinued and is very very hard to find parts for them, at least for me it is....

Simple. Just cover the distributor cap (only the top!) with aluminum foil, then put one gallon of a 1:2 rubbing alcohol/water mixture into the gas tank. After 100 miles or so, it should clear right up.

I hope  you got rid of that Talon. My Sons best friend had one, it was a constant pain.
Nice looking car but under the hood nothing but a bunch of BS.
