you can tell when crested geckos are going to shed is because they don't eat as much they go dull and go to where you spray the most.

Depending on their color, they usually turn a greyish tone, losing their normal bright color and they tend to lose their grip when climbing up or down and slip and fall easily.  If you get lucky, you might witness this as they usually eat the molt in a hurry.
Keep the gecko sprayed and moistened during the molt, it eases the skin off by misting them.  Also check for molted skin stuck to the gecko's toes, because if it does not come off, the gecko could lose its toe.

You will notice the there color will be abnormally light and there skin loose. You will although most likley not see them shed, they normally do it at night and eat the skin.
