Is it possible and safe to tattoo burn scars? I have a rather large one on my right arm from a hot cup of tea @ age 2, 2nd degree, skin graft and natural healing. I'd like to make it beautiful.

I have tattooed over a burn i did with a car cigarette lighter . I'm no expert but i think the ink goes beneath the scar tissue as i can still see my scar over my tattoo although not as well . I'd ask a professional tattooist if i were you and even if they said it was a bad idea you could always tattoo a pattern around the scar if not directly over it

Ya! it is, i actually have 3, one on my fore arm, two other one each leg, on my calf's. It's safe, depending how it's done, self burning isn't as sanitary, or as safe as professional work. The major problem people who want burn tattoos have to face is, finding professional tattoo artist who actually do them. thing is if you google it, under burn tattoos, branding, or burn scar tattoo, you might find a location close enough to where you live. Mine came out great!!! i love them, and i have no regret about them what so ever.
