i have heard that if you have heart problems or are taking a beta blocker, that you cannot get a tattoo. I was wondering why?

Kahrey, where did you hear this?  There is no good reason not to get a tattoo because of heart problems or being on beta blockers.  Heart problems is a pretty general term.  If you are very sick with heart disease, such as need a heart transplant or have class four heart failure, then a tattoo is probably not something your body needs to deal with at the moment.  Otherwise, go for it!
