How is the person related to you?  A friend, a friends son/daughter or the son/daughter of a co-worker?  I have the same question for the daughter of a co-worker of my husband?  It's not like we're friends with the co-worker - he's just a co-worker - no contact outside of work.

According to Hallmark research, $50 or more is the average graduation gift for a close relative, $25 for a not-so-close relative or a child of a close friend, $20 or less for an acquaintance.

I have a similar issue. The graduates of church families. They are not necessarily close friends, but are people we see at social functions only through the church.

Thanks for the advice!
