Does anyone know where I can find the history of a famous costume store in St. Paul, MN, called Giesen Costume Store, located on the corner of 6th and Wabasha Streets.  The company was started by Martin Giesen in the early 1900's and continued in business until approximately 1960.  It was located on the second floor of the Midland Building.  It was operated by Martin Giesen'swife Olga for many years after Martin passed away.  The store had a full time staff of women who would make costumes to fit the needs of its customers.  Many of the costumes were used in plays that were put on by various schools, other costumes were made for the St. Paul Opera which was started in the 1800's by Peter J. Giesen. If anyone has any information on anything I've written please let me know.

Martin is my great grandfather's brother.  I have information regarding your inquiry.  Some of it can also be obtained from the Minnesota Historical Society.  The rest has been contributed by family.
