Just after the point in a dream that I realize I have become lucid, I seem to hit a lull with my dream, like I am standing there blankly as my dream fades out around me. I was wondering if any one could tell me why this is happening and/or how I can get past it. I used to have fairly regular lucid dreams, but recently they all end in this way.

If you feel that your dream is fading or about to end, running in circles or spinning (in the dream, of course) can help to set the dream back to normalcy.

try holding your arms out and spinning, it has to do with something in the part of your ear that controls balance.  i dont remember if my eyes were open or closed when i do it but it definately works.  after i did that a few times my dreams dont fade out like they used to.

This happened to me in the beginning. It will pass as you continue to practice lucid dreaming. For me i think the reason was, that i didnt realy had the energy to keep the world from fading.

- Try to meditate before going to sleep, this will help you clear your mind(that is whats taking your nenergy)

- Relax. Sit in a chair or sofa, just relax for a while before going to bed.

- Give youtself tasks to do in lucid dreaming. The 'castaneda way' of finding your hands gives you something to focus on.

You are wanting it to bad and are forcing it.   A lucid dream cannot be forced.  You have to just go in the flow and maybe it will pick up, or maybe it  won't.  If one does pick up it is best not  to go ALRIGHT IT WORKED! but to keep a calm demeanor about yourself and continue  with the dream as if it is no big deal that you have gained  a conscious understanding of your surroundings.
