I have a 18 year old red-oak floor.  It was white washed when we bought the house.  We had it stained "natural" on the advise of a floor refinsher years ago.  We have large dogs and 4 kids and have had the floor refinished twice.  We are about to do the floors again, but are considering a different color.

We have oak whit wash through the house as far a cabinets and 4 floor to ceiling pillars.  We have 4 inch white wash molding around the entire house and 2,000 square feet of wood floor.  As you can see I am kind of married to this white wash oak.

Now the natural stain on the floor never went great with the white  wash oak molding and I now am thinking of going darker and making it more of a contrast.

What are the trends, and what is you opinion?

Sandy
