I am pregnant by a Canadian citizen and we plan on getting married but we need to know if I can get the health benefits for myself and our child and how I can move to Canada to live and work there and if we have to be married in Canada or if we can get married in the U.S.

I am in the exact same situation.  Did you ever get any information?  What has happened for you?

I married a Canadian in the USA.+
Your child would not be an American citizen automatically the usa often does not recognize dual citizenship. The baby would be Canadian and would get benefits asap.

I have healthcare info but on my other computer.  Go www.settlement.org and read up on health care. this site is mainly for immgigration to Ontario but has links to some fed health info.

If you do not live and are not applying for perm residence in Canada and you can do it while living in Canada, but I do not recommend it, Stay stateside if you have benefits already.

For immigration info go to the govt of canada site at www.cic.gc.ca and look for spousal info.

he would have to sponsor you.
