World War II began on September 3rd, 1939, with the invasion of Poland by Germany.  Before that time Nazi Germany had absorbed Czechoslovakia, the Rhineland and Austria under it's policy of Liebensraum (living space). Britain and France had guaranteed the sovereignty of Poland and Hitler called their bluff, believing they would back down as they had done in 1938 when he violated Czechoslovakia.

Germany enjoyed an alliance with Fascist Italy, and later signed a pact with Japan.

The United States entered the war on Dec 07 1941 as a result of the attack by Japan on the naval base at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.  Curiously enough the US did not initially declare war on Germany and Italy, but Hitler solved the problem by declaring war on the US.

The war in Europe ended on 8th May 1945, while Japan surrendered on 2nd Sept 1945.

US military deaths during the war were 298,000, while those of the the UK were 356,000, the USSR lost 18 Million, Japan lost 1.97 Million, and Germany lost 4.2 Million.

During the war approximately 30 million people are known to have died, which represents 1 death per 5 seconds for the duration of hostilities.

I thought that it started because the US cut off Japans oil lines which was their life line, they lived off oil practically. And my grandpa didn't come home until september 12th but her plane was delayed.

The Real Cause of WW2

The Second World War was foreseen to originate between Great Britain and Germany. However, one of the planned results of this war was to strengthen the new Communist Russian government, so that it could weaken and destroy other governments and religions.

History again records that the Second World War did indeed accomplish this objective. The war started when Germany invaded Poland, causing Great Britain to declare war on Germany. Very soon, the troika (3's) of powers were set up to wage this war.  Germany, Italy and Japan vs. Great Britain, United States and Russia.


The Pike vision of the Second World War building Russian Communism into a super power was fulfilled to a startling degree. Historians have always been mystified as to how Churchill and Roosevelt could have given away all of Eastern Europe to the Soviets, when the preponderance of power was clearly against the Soviets. Clearly, when Roosevelt and Churchill ceded all of Eastern Europe to Russia, the Communist Government of Russia, completed its transition to a super power, exactly as Pike's vision had foretold.

Sept. 1 1939: Nazi Germany invades Poland.

Sept. 2 1939: Britain, France, Canada and numerous other nations declare war on Nazi Germany over the following week.

Dec. 7 1941: Japanese bomb Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.  America joins the war.

May 6 1945: Nazi Germany surrenders under the weight of incoming Allied forces, after Hitler commits suicide.

August 1945: US A-bombs Nagasaki and Hiroshima, to convince Japan to surrender.

Sept. 2 1945: Japanese surrender, war ends.

world war 2 started because Hitler was attacking Poland and the allied forces forced Hitler to stop his invasion but Hitler continued thus starting the war. the war started in September 1939 and finished in 1945. i believe the war ended when Hitler poisoned himself his wife dog thus ending the war and over 50 million people were estimated to be killed.

How world war 2 started was when Germany invaded Poland, the US joined in when Japan invaded Pearl Harbor. In Hitler's point of view, it was the poland troops fault, because they attacked german men the DAY BEFORE Germany invaded Poland. The war in Europe was Ended when Hitler Killed himself(the war went on for 2 more weeks till it ended) and during V-E Day. The War in Asia ended when U.S totally bombed the crud out of Japan with the "little boy" & and the "fat man" which dropped on Nagasaki and Hiroshima and later the Soviets came and beat the turd out of the Japan.
