There are two things I know of: You can actually "clean" your pipe by filling it halfway up with rubbing alcohol and adding salt. Plug up the ends with papertowel or plastic wrap and shake vigorously. Repeat if necessary. You can also boil water in a bowl and submerge your pipe in it. I usually go and read a while and come back once the water has cooled. Usually there is a layer of fine black powder on the floor of the bowl. Take out the pipe, and without disturbing the black powder, slowly drain the water. Eventually you'll be left with very watery black powder. Squeeze out the water and roll the powder into a ball. (I say "powder" loosely, it is more like a sticky, grainy, goo.) Let it sit awhile until it dries out. Warning: it puts off an odd odor, don't plan a party afterward.

in addition to the methods above for cleaning your glass pipe, i have found the best/easiest/quickest way to clean a pipe. oxyclean! boil water (either in the microwave or on the stove) and then pour the water into a bowl that already has a few tablespoons of oxyclean in it. once you pour in the water, the oxyclean will start bubbling up. submerge your pipe(s) in the water. yellow bubbles will immediately start coming to the surface. all the resin will bubble to the top, and the water will turn either yellow or brown, depending on how much resin is in your pipe. it only takes a few minutes and then take the pipe out of the water and run it under hot water. if there is still a bit of resin in the pipe, just mix some hot water and oxyclean in a cup and fill the pipe with that water. plug the bowl and the mouthpiece and shake. rinse, and your pipe should be free of resin and look brand new! i have tried tons of methods and found this one to be the fastest and the best. it's extremely easy! the only downside to this method is that you don't get to save the resin :(

Pot resin had gotten into my hair, and by the next night I had noticed many resin spots on my cotton pillowcase. More like resin chunks stuck to my pillow case. I used Wisk and rubbed furiously. It faded, but was not coming out completely. I gave up and put it in the wash on hot. When it came out, The resin spots that were unscrubbed were completely gone! Dissolved! The places that I had scrubbed were stained as I had left them. I rubbed in the resin! I should have just put it in as it was. Wisk removes resin from cotton in a hot wash cycle without pre-treatment. Pre-treatment can rub in the stain permanently. It is a leap of faith, but I wish that I knew this before I washed the pillow case.

RUBBING ALCOHOL! it disolves the resin perfectly, you can clean pipes, bongs, clothes, fingers etc. Adding salt as an abrasive helps clean spots you can't directly scrub (like insides of pipes and bongs)

hairspray works for getting ink out of clothes. wet the area, spray the area, let sit, then wipe off with a cold wet paper towel or something. saved me before a meeting once when my pen broke.

arm and hamer makes a spray. it smells like locker room cleaner but shortly after you spray it it goes away and it absorbs odor instead of covering it.

that's funny because i was trying to find the correct way to boil your pipe to get the resin out because scraping it with a bobby pin isn't good enough! so this is the first site i clicked on after i googled it. thanks for misreading the question jessica!

First off about the pipe u shouldn't put it in hot water it will break(unless metal it may rust instead) the glass.
