Hello,
My packet   has everything needed to set up a business as an Independent Nurse Contractor. I am an Independent RN Contractor and I have started up my own Business. I have been contracting my services out for about 3 years.  I am with the National Nurses Business Association and have been for a couple of years. I contract my nursing services out to mainly hospitals, but have also done contracts in rehab facilties,step-down tele units, icu, nicu, and currently long term acute care.  Any facility that hire temporary nurses will hire and Independent Nurse Contractor. The only thing different is that you no longer have to give part of your pay to the  "middle man"  Nurse Contractors practice in all aspects of the Healthcare Industry; Home Health, Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Rehab Centers and Doctors Offices, just to name a few. My Manual contains information on all business aspects, and issues related to complete business start up needs, finance, taxes, insurance, advertising and marketing.  I usually sell about 30 manuals a month and have assisted many nurses in this business. It seems that more and more nurses are choosing this career route.   I have included a full length contract with all  forms and documents, etc..for setting up a home business pertaining to all aspects of the medical field. I use these documents ,contracts etc…each time I secure a contract. These forms protect the interest of all parties involved.I also have included information to help you figure a rates.
I am not sure if you know this but each time you present your portfolio as an Independent RN Contractor it is reviewed by the facilities Lawyer or legal council. I have never had any problems getting past this process. I assure my contracts and documents were drawn up with the help of my own Lawyer.
As far as State Specific The main difference is the per diem rate you will be able to charge. I have also  included a website that is specific to each state guidelines. As Nurses we all practice under the Nurse Practice Act. An Independent Nurse contractor contracts with a healthcare facility to provide nursing services, usually by the hour. An Independent contractor can contract his or her nursing services directly with a healthcare facility or with a patient and continue bedside practice. The contract is similar to those used by nursing agencies and travel companies outlining the services to be provided, the responsibilities of both the healthcare facility and the nurse, and the length of time the services are to be provided.    Any registered nurse can start a business, including two-year graduates and diploma nurses. No advance degrees are necessary unless your business includes diagnosing and treating medical problems.  State nurse practice acts do no prohibit a nurse from starting up their own business as an Independent Nurse Contractor. Independent nurse contractor is one who contracts with a healthcare facility for nursing services. A contractual agreement is drawn up between you and the institution. You will be able to negotiate your compensation, hours worked and length of time your services will be needed. Visit http://www.independentrncontractor.com

To compound the problem, within the next 5 to 10 years, over 76 million Baby Boomers are scheduled to retire from the workforce, with only about 44 million Generation X'ersavailable to pick up the slack. This will soon place unprecedented demands for health care agency services / home care agency services on a system that is already stretched thin. The problem is not limited to hospital nursing. Today, there is also a critical shortage of nursing faculty. As a result, thousands of qualified men and women who want to enter the field are being turned away by the nations schools of nursing.

Guide books on How To Start A Nursing Agency are flooding the internet. Most of these manuals are extracts from articles found on the worldwide web. Because individuals seeking to start their own nursing agency buy information guides that do not have all the contents and key tools for success, a good number of these agencies either fail within their first year of business or simply never get to launch their new business.
A hospital executive would feel more comfortable contracting nurses from an agency dedicated to temporary medical staffing than from a one-stop-shop that also places welders, janitors and filing clerks.
