While on vacation in Los Angeles, I discovered my California's drivers license is missing.  It's either lost or misplaced.
I have an appointment with the DMV on Friday to order a duplicate card.  My question is this: In this era of identity theft, should I order a duplicate of the same card, or order a new license number.

I'd think if you lost it at sea then maybe get a duplicate if you lost it downtown then get a new one. Ultimately it's your id how safe do you think the old one is?
