I have a 1996 Sebring Conv. that keeps blowing the starter fuse every time you try to start the car.  I have changed the starter relay, which one mechanic recommended, but it did not work.  What else could this problem be?  Please help.

I had the same problem with my 98 Sebring.  The problem was a poor connection between the battery and the starter.  Current which would have normally flowed through this heavy wire instead flowed through the thin wire to the solenoid and starter windings.  And that blew the fuse.  When I cleaned and tightened the heavy wire connection.  It quit blowing fuses and starts fine.

This blowing out fuse position #8 (starter circuit) has been happening to my '96 Chrysler Sebring during snowstorms.  Found out today the starter motor required replacement.  Hope a new $263.67 starter fixes the problem.
