My 8 month old Jack Russell is in week 3 of being in heat and so far all okay.  But, the last 2 days she has been constantly all over me.  I question if this is an "in heat" thing or if it could be because my husband works out of town and on the weekends gives her a lot of attention when he is home.  Separation anxiety?  At first, it was cute..now she is constantly coming up to me and wanting to lick me and won't leave me alone.

I have a female JRT, now 3 yrs., she was raised with a neutered Weimaraner and I have noticed that in all the heats she has had, that the first couple of weeks she will be somewhat moody and avoids the Weimaraner when he comes around her in any sort of sexually instinctive manner.  However, the few days of her heat (thank goodness it is literally only 4 days or so), she will just really make her presence known to him - she will seek him out for attention and literally roll her body all over his when he is laying around - in return he goes pretty berserk as well and it is hard to keep him away from her.  There is something that goes on in the last few days of the heat, where they just seem to want and attention.
