when he starts biting, hold his mouth shut with your hands and say no. you might also have to keep him down- restrained if you will so he knows you are in command.  I recently adopted an 8 month old rott/pit bull mix that
thought it was ok to play bite me.  she certainly did not like the training but she very quickly stopped doing it. and because i was not yelling, hitting or otherwise being mean she learned quickly.  if she started to bite again, with a strong loud no-she would instantly stop...it's been 4 months since she came to live with me and hasn't done that in a very long time- since the 1st month.

another good idea is whenever the pup bites is to shout OW! and to leave the room for 5 minutes that way the pup will learn that they dont get to play if they bite and they will stop it. also the pup may be teething so give them toys to chew

All you do is hold the back of the dog's neck lightly and if he bites harder, hold on more tightly and shout no or bad boy.
