i have taken my old on/off power switch off my hotpoint...

i have taken my old on/off power switch off my hotpoint dishwasher and forgotton how to reconnect them. So i now have a blue,red,black and brown wire and a new switch that i do not know how to reconnect. Could someone help please it is a hotpoint 1st edition

Well first I would have to know what colors are on the on/off switch.  Usually everything is color coded and you just match color to color.  I will take a guess and say that black is connected to your power source and red is your switch leg or your on part of the switch.  The blue and brown wires should be the control wires for the dishwasher and connected to the control wires on the switch.
