The main cause of WW11 was Adolph Hitler. A German who was a power hungry man who hated Jews.He wanted to control the world.

Hitlers anger and resentment from the Treaty of Versailles (WW1). He wanted to unite all his German people and find new land for them so he began taking over small countries around him. he also wanted to dominate Europe, and later the world. His allies, Italy and Japan were also helping him and they were very powerful. The USA, France and Britain were unable to keep the peace with each other in their "League of Nations" so neither of them trusted the other, and Hitler thought it would be easier to attack when the democratic powers were trying to keep peace (because they wouldn't attack him). I hope that helped, I'm looking for information myself
