I am having a problem. My Chrysler Van sometimes only clicks once when I try to start it. It's been doing that since this winter and I need help in diagnosing the problem. So I can fix it or replace it. Can you help me?  Confused, Roll

starter motor is going bad

You may not need to replace the entire starter. Some chrysler starters can have the contacts in the solenoid replaced, saving you several dollars. I recommend you find a reputable service center in your area. stay away from chain stores the majority of them are parts replacers.

Ho, I am having trouble with my dodge van it clicks when I try to start it and also when I try to start it the speedometer amd tack goes round and round and the windshield wipers come on and washer goes and it refuses to start

you have to understand that the technology being built into starters nowadays has far exceeded the old Auto Zone testers. and while these testers will read that everything is fine with the starter.. the truth is that old testers will test all things mechanical, not anything that requires technological testings. starters today, and from 15 years ago are subject to technological standards so going to an old doctor will only lead to false diagnosis... replace the starter even though it reads good... i know this by experience
