I am wondering cards that get "return to owners hand at end of turn" such as a Viashino Sandstalker, if they die from attacking that turn do they get put into the owners hand at end of turn or are they dead and in the graveyard???

If your vishiano sandstalker was attacking and was blocked, when the blocker deals damage to it, it will die, and go into your graveyard. This is because the damage would have been dealt to the sandstalker before the end of your turn when you could have legally put him back into your hand.
