I'm impressed! The books are rare as hen's teeth, IMO.

I also have a Claxtonola - 1910, mahogany windup floor model. I don't know where you can get a UNIVERSAL tone arm, but the tone arm on my player is chromed brass.

That means you should be able to braze or solder your existing tone arm back together. If worst comes to worst, use thin brass sheets as a splint and gently resurface the arm so the repair is not obvious.

(I believe that "universal" tone arm may have referred to a player component common in 1910 - though certainly not today!)

Hope this helps!

I have a claxtonola victrolla, not sure what year it is or where to look for it. My husband purchased it for our anniversary, how ever it has not crank or needle. If anyone has any idea as to where to find these parts i would greatly appreciate it.

The Claxtanola'swere wonderful machines, I had a Universal arm had a spring in the back sold it to a guy several years ago in my phonograph repair business. The arm the  was going for $150.00. These were usually pot metal and fragile. The reproducer can be turned in the arm to play all types of records....Call Rod Lauman at Victrola Repair Service in Vermont. He should be able to help.

Be careful with your cracked tone-arm. It is not made of chromed brass as stated by sbclayton. It is made of white metal which will be damaged beyond repair if you heat it up to braze or solder. I know first hand because I tried to repair my Claxtonola tone arm. The original company was in Iowa City, Iowa and is out of business. Only Universal parts are available unless you find someone selling a Golden Throated for parts. Good Luck!
