I put a new battery in my remote control key fob.  How do I reset it so that it unlocks and locks the doors.

I'm having the same problem , with no warning whatsoever the keyfob would not open the car doors, good job i was close to home. I have been told i will have yo get the darned thing reprogrammed by a vw technician.his will cost at least £40!

Start your car with it.  Shut it off.  Then unlock, lock and unlock all the doors with that key.  In other words, make sure all the buttons go up and down.  The car should now recognize the key.
