I like to move my stove from one place in the kitchen to another. What is the legal length of a 220V extension cord?

It is against code to use any kind of an extension cord for this type of appliance, what you need to do is re-locate the receptacle, you will need to measure the distance from the breaker box to the desired plug location, if under 100' you should not have any problems, if in doubt you should upgrade to 6/4 wire which is of course 1 white, 1 red, and 1 black with a bare ground, also check on the age of the range as older ranges may in fact require 6 gauge to be safe, due to amps pulled.
