I don't really think there is a way to stop your doxie from chasing the cats. My miniature dachshund in a year old and still chases 2 of our cats. If you cats wanted your dog to stop they would do something about it. We have 4 cats, and she doesn't mess with the other 2 cats because they'll claw or scratch at her. So it's really only up to the cat to get your doxie to stop.

I don't think you can stop it either, however, we just recently bought a female doxie, and she will be 5 months old at the end of this month, when we first brought her home, that is all she and our cat did was constantly chase each other all the time. Now, the doxie has gotten rather bored of it and is use to her now, so most the time it is our cat who is initiating the chasing wrestling matches. Give it time, I'm sure your doxie will mellow out as he gets use to the cats and will also get bored with them as well for the most part except for a wild hair up his butt every now and then! LOL!
