Hey, my shih tzu is 7 weeks old and I have given her a bath. She does fine with them. She laid down in the sink the entire time, but had a problem when it came to getting her dry. She started yelping at the hair dryer so I had to place her in front of a portable heater to keep her warm.

We have had to bath our 6 week old Shih Tzu, she actually likes it alot. Problem is because she was bought from a Bangkok Market, she was so used to peeing, pooping right where she sat that she still gets in a real mess. One day I have to bath her twice! Any suggestions for how to stop her lying on the newspaper after doing her business?

hey!
its not really hard! have you had any dogs before? Well i have a shih tzu who is 2months and a half! its really importante to not let water in his ear! okay...
  * use warm water(not too cold or hot)
  * use some shampoo for their body, except the face
  * massage them on their back & chest
  * wash it off but remeber not to let water in the ears!
  * after the shampoo is totally off, towel dry them!
  * them dry them with a drier!

bye!sorry for being a yr late!

As soon as you get your pup you can bathe him. The earlier the better, so he does not develop a fear of bathing. He will be nervous at first, but take it slow, gentle, and luke warm. Cuddle him in a warm towel after, and try to do it as often as possible. Eventually he won't need many baths.
