If they used a barbell, you simply unscrew the balls, and take the post out. You can then put a new barbell in. I suggest leaving the bottom ball on, and inserting it through the bottom hole, and then securing it with the top ball.

If they used a CBR (captured ball ring) then you'll want to go back to the piercer to get it taken out, and have new jewelry put in. They have to use a special type of pliers to do this.

i just got my belly button peirced 5 months ago or so..and if you had your belly button peirced with the same kind of ring i did then you pull each side of the ring to opposite sides and get sum1 to push the ball and it should just pop right out

They only have to use the plies the first time you get it done on the loop ring. You can go to many stores now and find the rings. It just clicks into the circle. Its a little hard, which is good because it makes it to where it wont fall out.I think all piercings look better with bars in them anyways. Doesnt stretch the hole out or make it oddly shaped either. Also make sure the ole is healed before you take this ring out.
