There must be, because I have it. It's perfectly benign and lasts from 6-10 weeks. The only thing you can do to treat it is try and alleviate the itching.

Poor 2 year old. :( It's not fun being itchy!

There is such a thing.. I have it.. Dr.'s really don't know the origin.. but it is believed to be an after effect of a virus.. any old virus that was untreated... maybe a really bad cold. It goes away by itself.. takes about 2 weeks to 2 months... nothing to worry about.

Yes there is.  I've had it, *twice*...

It sure looks impressive, and can last a very long time, but is a harmless skin condition.

The treatment that worked for me was a weekend spent in the sun.

YES THERE IS. I HAVE IT. I BREAK OUT WITH LITTLE SORES AND HEAT MAKES IT VERY BAD. I HAVE TO TAKE LUKEWARM SHOWERS. IT IS VERY EMBARRASSING FOR ME AS I AM IN THE PUBLIC EYE IN MY JOB EVERYDAY. THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THERE IS NO CURE. I DON'T THINK THEY ARE DOING A LOT OF RESEARCH ON IT.

I certainly hope so, I was just diagnosed with it myself today.  Google it, you'll find tons of descriptions.

yep! I am 29 and was just diagnosed with it. I have spots all over my upper body, neck and back. Doctor said not medical treatment - just has to run its course.
