Back in the '70s, I think, a guest artist on SNL sang a song, accompanying himself on the guitar, which began: "Hoot owl--dog howl--white Oaxacan moon". This haunting song is still in my head but that's all I know. Does anyone know who this artist was, or anything about this song? Thanks.

It was Gary Tigerman. That song has haunted me for years too. I'm still hope to find a recording somewhere before I check out.

That was Gary Tigerman, an ex-cousin of mine. I thought he played the piano to that tune? Anyway, he has a website so you could probably ask him more about the song there. garytigerman.com I think. Cheers!
