Is the automatic temperature control panel of a 1993 chrysler concorde compatible with a  1996 chrysler concorde compatible atc?

The '93 unit will not have the updated modifications that were done on the later models. The '93 unit will fit, but it is prone to fail. By fail, I mean that it will default to full blast heat to the windshield defrosters and will not be able to stop it, except by pulling the fuses for the atc unit(10 amp) and the blower motor(25 amp). The ATC unit lists for about $490, but you can get a "rebuilt & guaranteed" unit on e-bay for about $50.
