I would like to know if you can put sea shells that you find on the beaches in Florida in your fishtank and if you have to do anything to them before you can put them in your tank.  We have the nicest shells that we found and I want to put them in the bottom of the tank for looks and for the fish.

I'm not postive if this is ok to do, but i soaked my shells for a few days and added them to my tank.  No problems so far.
