What states forbid Pittbulls and what states put insurance restrictions on pittbull owners?  I found a starving pittbull and she is the sweetest  little dog...I find it almost unbelieable that they could be so vicious as reported.

These dog's are one of the brightest bread's there are it's a shame that alot of people are so careless with them.

pittbulls have a bad reputation that they do not deserve,they're wonderful pets if raised properly,but just like people,some have bad tempers,did you know "petie"from the little rascals was a pitt?

Pittbulls are just dogs.  They are nice, and sweet.  No dog is born mean.  The only reason any dog, including pittbulls would be mean is if they were treated badly.  I think pittbulls are one of the greatest, and kindest breed of dogs ever.

i hate the fact that peopole judge a dog that they never had 1 day i was walking my dog any this some what old lady stoped and ask me if she can pet my dog i said yes then she asked what kind she was i told her i seen here 2 weeks later and she went and got a pit she total chaged he mind about them

Why do most people scared of pittbulls? Even though you tell them that they are not mean ang they do not bit. Couse I have a red noes pittbull.

I own a pittbull and she do seem to be a very good dog for my kids. I do worry about all the bad things I've heard about a Pitt. People are telling me I need to get rid of her,but my kids want to keep her. I am afraid that she will eat my kids. I'm scared of dogs,but they love her and take good care of her.She likes to be loved.I really want to get involved with her,but I'm scared of any dog.She is so friendly but big at age one.She like to lick,and jump on you.Should I be scared will she bite me? I guess she knows I'm scared huh.What should I do?

its not the dog that should be put to blame. its the owner.i can take a poodle or a golden retreiver and turn it into a killer.people only see the bad side of pitts.i know many pitts.they range from gentle to vicious..and i also know thats it cause of the individual owners that they are like this.i have friends that train their pitts to kill..and friends that train them to protect..i know people who chain them to their garages and people who have them sleep in their childrens rooms as gaurd dogs.so in all reality..its not the actual dog that is the aggressor...its the owner and the enviorment that the dogg is put in

I THINK  PEOPLE THINK PITT BULLS ARE MEAN BECAUSE THEY LOOK AT THE BACK ROUND WHEN THEY ARE USED TO FIGHT EACH OTHER I HAVE A PITTBULL HE'S THE MOST FRIENDLYST DOG I EVER HAD I RAISE PITTS BOXERS AND WROTS SO I SHOULD KNOW .AND ITS ALSO THE WAY THERE TREATED MY DOG'S GETS TREATED LIKE THERE SUPPOSE TO THEY EAT BEFORE ME THEY DRINK BEFORE ME AND THEY GET WALKED ALOT IN ONE DAY  THATS HOW PITTBULLS SHOULD BE TREATED BY US.                                                     THE END

JUST MAKE SURE U LOCKED THE GATE AND COVER HOLES AND HAVE A HIGH ENOUGH SO THE DOG CAN'T JUMP ON IT OR CLIMB AND HAVE BEWARE OF DOG SIGNS IN VISIBLE AREA, TO LESSEN THE PROBLEM.

pitts go  bad at 5/7yrs. i'verescued over300 dogs in philly they all are treated the same at they all went within the same time period

TN won't insure your pitt as part of you home insurance, but there isn't a restriction on how many you can own.

I am a pittbull lover.I have 3-full ground pittbull'sand 7-pittbull puppies,And 2-Boxers,they all getalong.My kids are my dogs,They are so much in my life they eat the best kind of food.I will never stop raising this breed,I love them all.If I hade it myway i would take in any pittbull that is not won'ted  All you have to do is give them alot of T.L.C. lOVE THEM THEY WILL LOVE YOU Iraised all of my kids with my sister-in-law she is haring impared.That is how well behaved my kids are.

Yo me personally have never had a pitbull but have always liked them. I hear all the time about teens fighting pitbulls, and how there mean and vicious. They can only be as mean as there owners made them.

Pittbull's are nice dog's and it does only count on how they are raised.I know b-cuz I have had pittbull's in the past and they were only mean if you teased them so any state that has a problem with pittbull's need to go make up their own U.S. b-cuz you shouldn't judge something before getting to know it.That's my opinion.

I don't know exactly what states forbid them but I do know that their a wonderful breed of dogs and the only kind of dogs I personally would spend my money on. The are great companions and most people are really afraid of them.

pibuls have a nature to be mean most of them arnt ,peepl get the impression of mean pittbulls wen they c the 1s who have fought or somthin like that, i luv pittbuls and i hate wen peepl treat them like that

I had a full blooded Pitt and he got shot by my neighbor's and we called the cops and they did not do a dame thing.

We have four pittbulls and we have been raised around them our whole lives and none of them have ever tried to turn on us. In our oppinion people make dogs mean dogs are not born mean. Example you can take any dog and make it a killer.

Please don't be disrespectful to others by using poor English. (Regarding your remark made to the person misspelling "breed"-"bread". What does "arn't mean? Crackerjack? Isn't it spelled "aren't"?  Well, I have 2 pittbulls. One was bought from someone that was fighting her.  She didn't deserve that life, so we helped her out of a bad situation.  Her name is Precious. And that she is. When we first saw her, she began licking our faces like she knew us all her life. She gets along with all dogs except for the jealous ones. She will share our attention, but when another pet growls with jealousy, she doesn't hesitate to take charge. She had a litter of puppies shortly after she came to live with us, we kept a white female and ended up giving the rest to the Humane Society. Fortunately, there is a very good ending to this story, an organization in New York State has an adoption agency for Pitt bulls. Precious' puppies will be adopted out to good loving people. Pittbulls are born with the potential to fight and be aggressive. It is their nature. In my experience dealing with all kinds of dogs, I found that training and behavior habits helps control the aggression, but when it comes down to it, a Pitt bull WILL NOT back down from a conflict. They may not start the problem, but they will end it. If you think your Pitt bull won't fight if given the opportunity, then you are not in reality. I have never seen a more human-loving dog than my Pitt bull. She loves all humans.  Sometimes, I'm jealous! I worry that someone that is familiar with the breed might steal her. She stays in the house at night, but in a large lot outside during the day when I'm at work. Owning a Pitt bull is a very big responsibility because of the media and the realistic nature of the breed.

I have heard that pittbulls are mean,but I just wanted to check it out to see,because I think that all dogs are nice as long as you treat them right! I would NEVER mistreat a cute little inocent animal.I absolutely love them!!!! (as you see in my name)

Some dogs are Born and even bred (mean or hard ) However the average pittbull (from a reputable breeder) is really a very sweet loving caring animal not that reputable  breeders are not capable of producing Hard dogs  but generally  i breed for family protection and pets  Temperment intelligence this is not an ad thank you

No,Pittbulls to me are the best dogs that you could ever possibly have and thats an opinion because were I'm from they have pittbulls every were and I'm a girl that loves dogs!!!
Not saying that because I love Dogs it's just because i think that they should not be forbidden and I own 4 of my own pittbulls that is and to me a dog ia a dog!!!!!

hey i'm hungery since you are such a spelling Connoisseur/Critic (if you know what that means)hungery is spelled hungry! It just kills me that people set up a web-site for things like this and people like you have to try to put others down. Grow up. You probably don't even have a clue do you? Anyways pittbulls are the best, I have 2 and they wouldn't hurt anything unless something attacked them. It's all in how you raise them.

they are legal in Alabama, I hear of accidents happening with this breed of dog but like all of us agree, it is not the dog's fault. Owners are responsible for the actions of their pets. Owners are also to blame for improper treatment and or raising of these animals. It is not in a pitt'snature to attack people, only to protect themselves and loved ones.

We rescued a 6 month old boxer/pitt mix from the pound and took alot of heat from friends/family...we have kids, our youngest is 4. our pitt is the sweetest thing & much better with the kids than our boxer. She's also great with 3 cats & neighbors dogs. A dog is a dog is a dog...You won't convince me that they all end up turning on their owners & attacking your kids. Just love them and they will love,love, love you back!!!

I have two pitts. They are the best dogs. Pittbulls should be allowed everywhere. Granted some of them do have bad tempers but isn't that every breed of dog?? If people keep having dog fights w/ them, they will continue to have bad reps.

I think its dumb that pitts are band from some states. In a 2 year studie it showed that pittbulls where 5 from the bottom of the breeds that are dangers.

i have two pitt bulls and i always thought they were vicious animals but when zippy and zebby came into my life my whole statement changed.my dogs are the nicest dogs i know. everyone in my neighbor hood thinks that mine bit and kill but all they do is lick you to death.

There is a law in consideration right now in California to ban and exterminate all pittbulls; and Miami Dade-County has already done so. We all feel the same way obviously, we need to step up and do something to stop this.

Anyone who doesn't think pitt-bulls can be viscous killers is either stupid or uneducated about the breed! But at the same time anyone who doesn't think that pitt=bulls can be the most loyal and loving pets on the face of this planet has never owned one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have personally owned 4 pitt-bulls and all have had very different personalities,but all have only proven the point that they can be made to do what the owner wishes weither it be kill or kill with kindness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I tried to train for protection and she never took to it, all she wanted was love!
And others were never taught to protect and they gaurded me with thier life!!!!
So before you blame the breed TRY OWNING ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

pitbulls are among many of the mistaken dogs as always being aggressive. it is all on how they are brought up and what kind of a family they are brought up in. any dog can be raised up to attack and fight if brought up in that situation. a dog is much like a human we live on what our parents taught us.

Pittbulls are kind caring individuals just like any other breed of dog. NO dog is a bad dog, unless treated like one.The man shouldent put the pittbull brothers down,He should put the duma** dog abusers down. Pittbulls just have a bad rep from years of abuse.If I were to take any other breed of dog and abuse it,It would be just as vicious as any pittbull.peace and   4:20 4 life

Pittbulls are strong, tough, and kind.Being racist toward dogs is the same thing as being racist to a human.I have a pitt and he is the kindess,smartest,and sweetest K-9 I have ever owned.becouse he was raised with love and attention.NO dog is a bad dog unless raised like one.

Pittbulls are very lovable animals. They are so much fun to play with and are great cuddle buddies. It is not fair that we had to lie about the kind of dogs we have just to get homeowners insurance.

If your truly a good Pitt trainer you can get your Pitt to be mean when you want him to be but gentle to you and who you want him to be gentle to.Whenever there"s a threatening dog in my yard I let my rednose pittbull out and say get him,but when I tell him to get off the dog he gets right off.That"s when you know you have a good pitt.There also good for hunting.

pittbulls are loveable dogs and they don't
kill for nothing they have big tempers and big hearts when they do something wrong they
know what they done wrong so love a pit have
a big heart.people need to know to stop fighting them.matthew adams

I feel With being around pittbull they well are i lot like people. Some people are dumb and careless and others are smart and careful.. But there are all kinds of other animals that are the same why!!!!! I agree it is all on the way mammal are brought up.... IF NATURE IS BROUGHT UP IN A SAFE AND CARING ENVIRONMENT THEN WHATEVER IS BROUGHT UP IN NATURE WILL BE SAFE ON WHAT IT DOES AND CARING!!!!

sometimes life can be unforgiving when a life has been taken by a dog with a "rescent" stigmatism of a killer, who was once the k9 who represented America. to be a pet owner is to be  to be responsible enough for trainning there pet.

I GREW UP WIT PITTBULLS AND ITS WRONG FOR THEM 2B SEEN AS BEING HARMFULL.THEY REALLY ARE LOYAL.U NO IT JUST DEPENDS ON HOW YOU TREAT THEM THEY HAVE FEELINS 2 JUST LIKE HUMANS. JUST BECUZ THEY HAVE MORE STRENGTH DOESNT MEAN U CAN JUST TELL THEM 2 FIGHT AND B MEAN ALL THE TIME. AND SHAME ON THE PEOPLE WHO DO THAT. I MEAN NOT ALL PEOPLE DO BUT STILL. AND I THINK ITS THE OWNERS FAULT OF A PITT THAT ATTACKS AND THEY SHOULD B PUT 2 SLEEP NOT THE DOGGS.ITS ATTENTION THEY NEED NOT DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!IF U HEAR ME HOLLAR BACK ON WAT U THINK AT charger_rocker@yahoo.com    all my luv 2 the dogg lovers out there!!!

IF IT WAS NOT FOR MY PITT i WOULD NOT FEEL SAVE AT NIGHT. HE GIVES ME THE SAVE FEELING WHEN MY FAMILY SLEEPS AT NIGHT.

well, having raised them most of my life, the dogs are wonderful pets true...but some do have bad tempers. i have 3 the same age...raised the same way and 2 of them are very sweet...the other is very aggressive. the most important aspect of having any dog is to just pay attention, keep them well supervised. they have personalities just like people.

pittbulls are just very scared of new people and dogs.also if its trained good it can see that people and dogs are freindly. so make sure you get your pitt around lots of freinds and there dogs.

pittbulls may seem itimadeting but they are nice dogs if you treat them right .  so if you outlaw pittbulls you should outlwaw itimadating people if you judge something by how it looks then your wrong

Pitt's are the smartest kind of dog out there,and the only reason there rep. is so bad is be cause they are the strongest dog out there. so don't judge a dog by it's cover learn about the breed befor you start running your mouth.

if you have never owned a pitt then you are blind to te fact that this breed was bred to be people friendly. apitt is just like a child show them love and they wont let you down.!!!!!

I would like to hear from pittbull owners who have had to deal with a ban on pittbulls. I live in MS and we now have two cities that have banned the breed. I disagree with this and am writting a paper about this issue. thank-you CMoor

Pittbulls are wonderful pets. I was raised around pitts all my life and we never had a problem with them. I have a pittbull now and she is the sweetest dog I've ever seen. She's great with kids as well.

Hi. I was online doing research for an essay due for class today at 12:30pm about whether or not pittbulls should be outlawed. Based on my research, my report is against pittbulls being outlawed. However, I do hate pittbulls because they do have a history of being vicious and life threatning dogs. With that being said, I do strongly believe that a dog's behavior reflects a lot of the behavior of his trainer or owner. I feel owners purposely train their dogs to hate and kill, chew and tear the flesh from innocent adults and children. Just the thought of that leaves a person in silence to even imagine such behavior from a dog, but people are to blame for some dogs behavior. I don't belive all dogs are trained to be mean. i think that they are just bloodline mean, so I still wonder about my decision to not outlaw pittbulls. I don't ever want to meet a mean and dangerous one. Only a person who has dealt with and experienced such attacks from these animals can tell the true story about these dogs.

I myself own a pittbull named cocoa and she is a very smart and loving dog. She plays with my 7year old and has never been mean to anyone. She is very protective of us and the only way she would ever be mean is if she felt threatened or was protecting us. This stuff about banning them is a load of crap. Stupid people shouldn't own these or any other dog. If you raise a dog to be mean than it will be mean and visous. If you love them and treat them right then they will become like a member of your family.Just like my cocoa is. I love my PITTBULL!!!!!

pepper is her name. she has been raised with nothing but love and kindness"!! Her most dangerous weapon is her tail wagging at 90mph to see people and pets!!! she is a lot safer then smith & wesson!! since I am 100% disabled god only knows what could happen with me and a gun!!! You have a better chance getting out alive by her tail then the smith & wesson.  Besides no one has ever died from love and kindness!!!!!!

NC hasnt outlawed the breed yet either.I own a pitt.He is the sweetest dog I have evr had.My sister owned a tea cup poodle meaner than him.She actually bit my niece.My pitt has never bitten anyone.Its not the breed it's the OWNER.People are so ignorant to the breed.When they are trained to kill as puppies of course they are unpredictable.In cases of abuse yeah they are scared and may bite out fear but dont we lash out out of fear too. Other breeds attack too it;s just people use pitts too fight so People have branded this breed.The idiots who fight them and abuse them.

dogs are wonderfuls companion animals but pittbulls are more then that there friends there are like little kids adorables!!!!
