My '93' Chrysler Lebaron sometimes cuts off and the check gages light comes on.  I usually have to disconnect the battery cables, reset my alarm, and then restart my car.  Is this a problem anyone else has? What do I need to do?

My `93 Lebaron was doing the same thing. My mechanic said it sounded like the engine had a bad ground, so I found an empty bolt hole in the side of the head (6mm x 3/4"), made up a ground cable with #4 awg cable from Home Depot, and attached end connectors for #4 wire so the cable could be bolted. I ground the paint off a spot on the inside fender wall and bolted the other end of the cable there. I have not had a problem since.

oh my god, we just fixed this last night.

this car is my first car, so naturally it really scares me when "my baby" acts up like that. me and friend took a look at it and found that the wires going to the throttle were slack. we screwed a nut into the side of it to compensate for the slack... therefore giving the engine less resistance. i cranked it up several times to make sure it wasnt a fluke and now it roars like a hamster. basically its the same principal as if your brakes on your bike stopped working, you would tighten the wire in the brakes to make the pads hit your tire, same thing except this is your throttle switch. it doesnt sound like we over did it, like the motor idles right where it should be, so if you hear it going higher or still acting up, adjust accordingly.

with that said, crisis avoided and now my car runs like a dream.

This happened to me a couple times but all it was, was a bad air filter that had to be replaced.
