There are several engines that belong in the 89 models 2.5 normal engine (I think), 2.5 turbo, 3.0 V6 and 3.3 V6. There's not much else that fits. There is a 2.6 in 87 and 88, and you may have an 88.

But the differences are obvious:

The 2.6 has an aluminum valve cover, a fuel pump on the front side of the engine, and a water pump on the drivers side.

The other 4 cyl engines have stamped steel valve covers, and a distributor with a plastic shroud. You'd know if it was a turbo. There could be a 2.2, a 2.5 and the 2.5 turbo - all 4 cylinders.

The 3.0 V6 has a distributor on the left side with a normal round distributor cap. The air plenum clearly states that it is a Chrysler 3.0.

The last engine possibility is the 3.3 - the spark plug wires all come from a black box, it has a very compact design, and has a heaterhose coming off the drivers side end of the block.

Any of these engines could have been swapped out with a passeneger car version, but the changes are really minimal.

If you can identify which engine you have from the above, then you could get more specific on the details.

Enjoy
