I have a 1994 Caravan 3liter motor with a check engine light...

I have a 1994 Caravan 3liter motor with a check engine light on and running like hell with raw gas coming out the exhaust pipe with white smoke.The next day it ran great for about 40 miles and then started to hesitate and the smell of gas was present,it then started smoking again,What is causing this?

valve stuck or bad rings

I had that happen to me also a few years ago.
come to find out the oxygen sensor was not working..
Replace that and your problems will be gone.
It is located at the back of the engine where the exhaust mounts up to the engine.you might have to remove the heat shield to see it..Good luck
