Hello,
1 month ago I was subjected to a very loud noise, a high security steel door slamming about 12 inches from my head.  I've been to 2 ENTs, each one about 3 times.  I have had hearing tests that show about a 30 db loss.  The ENTs refer to this as a minor hearing loss.  Its not minor to me, the world is different now, I have recruitment and tinnitus as well.
My question is does anyone know where I could receive Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO or HOT) for one time acoustical blast NIHL.  I've come across many web sites that say this is extremely helpful for the tiny hairs in the cochlea after blast exposure.  It seems they are not dead yet, untill 6 months passes.  Time is ticking, and I've called the local (Raleigh NC) ENTs and none of the ENTs use it, some don't even know what it is.  Strange to me, that so many are unaware when health insurance companies like Aetna even list HBO for NIHL as a ligit treatment.
